Nikol Pashinyan and His Team Heroized Hrayr Tovmasyan: Marukyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his team have heroized Hrayr Tovmasyan. This was stated by Edmon Marukyan, leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction, on his Facebook page.

"For years, Hrayr Tovmasyan has been one of the most criticized figures of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), which is due to his ineffective and unreliable political activities. In the State-Legal Committee, there has been no one who has fought against him as much as I have. On numerous occasions, we have criticized Tovmasyan's 'legal' activities, starting from the time he was the chairman of the National Assembly's Permanent Committee on State-Legal Issues. The most definitive assessment from our side was given in 2018 when the 'Yelk' bloc voted against Hrayr Tovmasyan's candidacy for the presidency of the Constitutional Court.

Now, after all this, due to the ruling team’s partial, non-systematic, and inconsistent policies, a figure with an extremely low rating and not-so-good reputation has become a hero. Indeed, Nikol Pashinyan and his team have heroized Hrayr Tovmasyan.

By the way, this situation is more than logical. If the government refuses to implement real reforms or fails to carry them out and decides to play a simple game of 'cat and mouse' with just one person, then everything should end up just like this. There are basic rules in politics; if you shoot a sparrow with a tank, you end up turning that sparrow into an eagle. It wasn't difficult to understand this much, but like many other issues, this one also remains profoundly misunderstood and unacknowledged. Such a modus operandi will give birth to new 'heroes,' and the responsibility, of course, lies with those who have created these heroes," he noted.
