I Have a Desire to Serve Armenia: Acting Police Chief
I will fulfill my duties until the last moment and will do so with great responsibility. This was stated by the acting police chief Arman Sargsyan in a conversation with reporters a short while ago.
In response to the question of whether the Prime Minister has offered him the position of police chief, Sargsyan replied, “If it has not yet been decided whether I will stay or not, why should there be an offer?”
Answering the question of whether he has a desire to be appointed as the police chief, Sargsyan noted, “I have a desire to serve Armenia, wherever that may be.”
The acting police chief also spoke about the justifications for detaining members of the “Adequate” group. According to him, there is no political persecution against anyone in Armenia. “The police have the authority to verify the received information and to detain people. The information is verified, and those detained within the specified timeframe are released,” he concluded.
