Armenia Establishes Visa-Free Regime with Serbia

Today, the government made a decision to establish a visa-free regime for citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

According to the justification for the decision, on October 25, 2019, the Serbian government unilaterally decided to abolish the visa requirement for Armenian citizens holding ordinary passports. This decision came into effect on November 2 of the same year. Armenian citizens can stay in the territory of the Republic of Serbia for up to 90 days within a 180-day period without a visa.

In accordance with the principle of reciprocity, it has become necessary to exempt Serbian citizens from the visa requirement for entering Armenia as well. As a result of the approval of this project, a visa-free visiting regime will be established for Serbian citizens. This decision will come into force on the tenth day following its official publication.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of this decision. “It is a good decision, and this trend of abolishing the visa regime with different countries is, I think, a positive direction for our country,” he said, and inquired how many countries we already have a visa-free regime with, to which government members responded that the number is 63.
