The Case of Serzh Sargsyan and Others Has Been Sent to Court

The Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia reports that the indictment in the case of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has been sent to court. It is noted that the conclusion of the pre-trial investigation was announced on January 10.

Former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan and owner of the 'Flash' company, Barsel Beglaryan, are also involved in the criminal case.

It should be recalled that Serzh Sargsyan has been charged with financial violations related to providing diesel fuel to farmers. He is accused of having favored the 'Flash' company in 2013.

The company won a state tender for the supply of diesel fuel despite offering a higher price than its competitor (approximately one million dollars more). A travel restriction has been imposed on Sargsyan as a preventive measure.

On December 18, 2019, it became known that a lien had been imposed on the property of Armenia's third President Serzh Sargsyan and Barsel Beglaryan, the president of the 'Flash' company.

On January 15, 2020, the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia rejected an appeal from Sargsyan's lawyer against the decision to impose a lien on Sargsyan’s property.
