New Quality Winter Field Uniforms for Soldiers
The fabric of the field uniforms for military personnel in the RA Armed Forces has significantly improved in quality, with some soldiers already wearing the new version, while others will soon receive these enhanced uniforms. Additionally, there are plans for specific detailed changes, with developed samples of lighter and more practical winter field uniforms.
In an interview with Armenpress, Colonel Romik Margaryan, the head of the Armed Forces' logistics directorate, stated, "We have improved the field uniform. Instead of a fabric ratio of 65:35, we have acquired a 50:50 fabric, meaning 50 percent cotton and 50 percent synthetic. This is a significant improvement in quality. We have produced samples, and on the 30th, we will have a final discussion to decide which sample will be adopted for use. The appearance of the fabric remains the same; only some details on the surface are changing. The shoulder epaulettes have been removed from the field uniform, with ranks being secured on the chest, but we have returned the epaulettes to their original location—they must be included."
Margaryan noted that expensive materials have been acquired to enhance the winter field uniforms, and they are developing samples that are lighter, more practical, and warmer, with a final decision to be made on the 30th. The colonel added that changes in the appearance of the uniforms will be observed by them, but not necessarily by the public. Soldiers are already wearing uniforms of significantly better quality. Margaryan stated that not all uniforms in the Armed Forces have been changed yet, but updates are ongoing. When the uniform's wear period expires, soldiers receive the modified version.
"The winter field uniform is becoming lighter and more practical. We will solve issues related to fading and wear and tear," said Margaryan, noting that currently, those problems do not exist. He pointed out that sometimes soldiers’ parents do not want their sons to suffer and wash or iron the uniforms, so they go out and send new ones. However, he stated that this is not necessary at all. Margaryan assured that the quality of uniforms sold on the market definitely falls short of even the previous quality provided to them. Furthermore, with the current improvement in fabric quality, this issue is generally resolved.
In light of the January 28 event, Colonel Margaryan congratulated everyone on the 28th anniversary of the Armenian Army, wishing longevity. January 28 marks the 28th anniversary of the formation of the RA Armed Forces.
