Narek Malyan is in total isolation, says Melikyan

As previously reported, the founder of the VETO initiative, Narek Malyan, has been taken to the 6th division of the police.

In an interview with journalists, human rights defender Ruben Melikyan stated that Narek Malyan has been given the opportunity to contact his wife.

“I am violating Malyan's lawyer's rights. It has been reported that a lawyer has presented himself, and there has been no response; this is already a violation. Over the years in Armenia, this right has been ensured for many people. When a lawyer is present, doors were not closed; even in rare exceptions, those were exceptions. This is a clear right that is enshrined, and we can now record it as a violation. At this time, Narek Malyan is in total isolation, which is extremely alarming. We can assert with increasing likelihood the presence of a political element every minute,” said Melikyan.
