Milan-Yerevan Flight Causes Issues

According to a representative of Passenger.am at Milan airport and passengers, several dozen passengers were denied boarding for the Ryanair Milan-Yerevan flight FR4456 on January 28, 2020. NEWS.am reports this situation occurred due to the flight's improper and poorly organized nature.

It is noted that according to EU regulation 261/2004, in such cases, the airline was required to:

  • Provide passengers with an alternative flight to the originally booked destination,
  • Cover passengers' drink/food expenses (if the delay exceeds 2 hours) and accommodation (if the delay exceeds 5 night hours).

We advise keeping any evidence related to your trip. To receive compensation from the allegedly violating airline upon your return, we suggest filling out the application form on the website www.passenger.am.

Dear followers, if you recognize any passengers returning to Armenia from this flight, please share this post and inform them they can also visit www.passenger.am for more information and advice.

Auroranews.am contacted Stepan Payaslian, Deputy Head of the Transportation Regulation Department of the Civil Aviation Committee, who stated that he was not aware of such information and was hearing about this situation for the first time.

We also reached out to a citizen who returned from Milan to Yerevan, who stated that there were no issues and they returned to Armenia safely.

We attempted to contact the head of the Civil Aviation Committee, Tatevik Revazyan, but she did not answer our calls.
