One Member of Russian Tourist Group Receives Medical Assistance

On January 25, at 05:20, a search and rescue operation was initiated, deploying one combat unit from the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, an operational group, and the rescue team from the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center.

Around 11:30, rescuers spotted the group members approximately 1 km away. At 14:31, the rescuers reached the group's location, and by 16:45, a Russian citizen, Igor I. (born 1989), was transported to the Martuni hospital by tracked all-terrain vehicle. After receiving the necessary medical treatment, he was transferred to Fire and Rescue Unit No. 33. The other group members continued their journey.

At 18:00, Igor I. departed for Yerevan with employees of the 'Seven Springs Tour' travel agency.

It is noteworthy that on January 24, at 08:28, a call was received at the 911 emergency line reporting that a tourist group located 13 km east of the Nshkharq community in the Gegharkunik region, consisting of 6 citizens from the Russian Federation, required rescue assistance as one member’s health had deteriorated.

Two combat units from the Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene (via tracked all-terrain vehicles). At 17:30, information was received from the group leader, M. Borisenko, stating that the health condition of the ailing Russian citizen was stable.

Considering the weather conditions, mountainous terrain, and avalanche risk, search efforts will continue tomorrow. The rescue team from the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center has also been engaged and will depart for Martuni. Unmanned aerial vehicles are scheduled to be deployed if necessary.
