You have been an MP for 7 years, but not in a legitimate parliament: Karapetyan to Marukyan
The tension between the members of the 'Enlightened Armenia' and 'My Step' factions in the National Assembly continues to escalate.
Maria Karapetyan from the ruling faction addressed the leader of the opposition faction, Edmon Marukyan, in the NA, saying: “You say that the NA president has just learned that he has the right to impose sanctions. But it seems to me that he has simply been patient all this time. You have been an MP for 7 years, you have hit tables, intervened from your seat, shouted, and none of those sanctions have been imposed on you. Yes, you have been an MP for 7 years, but not in a legitimate parliament. The reason no sanctions have been applied to you is not that the Republican presidents of the NA were more democratic and generous, but because they internally understood that they did not have that legitimacy,” Maria Karapetyan emphasized, highlighting that the interventions were made for justifiable reasons.
Georgy Gorgisyan from the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction responded to Maria Karapetyan, noting that NA President Ararat Mirzoyan does not need the protection of the MPs from 'My Step'.
