Special Investigative Service Clarifies Statement by Amram Makinyan

The Special Investigative Service has provided clarification regarding the statement made by Amram Makinyan, a member of the defense team for Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan.

“Considering the public's right to receive objective information, we find it necessary to announce that Amram Makinyan’s statement, alleging that Hrayr Tovmasyan and his defense team are not allowed to familiarize themselves with the court decision regarding the search at H. Tovmasyan's residence, is clearly disinformation. We would like to inform that the individuals participating in the search, including the defense team, were granted access to the decision in accordance with the procedures established by criminal procedural law. The aforementioned statement by A. Makinyan aims merely to obstruct the conduct of the investigation,” the announcement states.

Taking the above into account, we urge Hrayr Tovmasyan's defense team to act within the bounds of the law and refrain from making statements that are not in accordance with reality and mislead the public.
