I Would Really Like to See the Court Act Permitting the Search of Tovmasyan's Apartment: Ruben Melikyan
Ruben Melikyan, co-founder of the NGO "Legal Path," expressed on his Facebook page that the charges brought against Hrayr Tovmasyan are such that it is simply unimaginable how the court could have lawfully authorized a search. He specifically noted that a lawyer is sounding the alarm about yet another manifestation of illegality in the series of repressions against the President of the Constitutional Court, Hrayr Tovmasyan.
Melikyan stated, “The charges against Hrayr Tovmasyan are of such nature that it is simply impossible to imagine how the court could have lawfully allowed a search, especially 25 days after the charges were filed. This contradicts both the criminal procedural as well as constitutional-legal and investigative-tactical logic. Instead, it fully fits into the repressive logic of 'New Armenia.' I would really like to see the court act permitting the search.”
