VIDEO: Macron Prohibits Jewish Security Staff Member from Entering Church
During his visit to Jerusalem, French President Emmanuel Macron reprimanded a Jewish security staff member who attempted to enter a church belonging to France. “I do not like what you did, please leave. You are doing great work in the city, I appreciate that. Please respect the rules, as they have been for centuries; they will not change with me. I ask you to respect the rules,” Macron stated, pointing the security staff member towards the exit.
International news outlets remind us that before attending an event related to the Holocaust, Macron was strolling through Jerusalem and stopped to visit the Church of Saint Anne, which was gifted to Napoleon Bonaparte by Ottoman Sultan Abdul Majid in 1856. The church, located in the Old City of Jerusalem, is considered French territory, which implies that representatives of the Israeli authorities do not have the right to enter there.
