VIDEO: I Will Not Tolerate Insults Directed at Me; I Will Initiate Legal Proceedings - Zohrabyan

I am not prepared to endure personal insults directed at me from the parliamentary podium and I am considering initiating legal proceedings against certain individuals, as I am concerned about the fixation on my personality. This was stated today, January 23, by MP Naira Zohrabyan from the Prosperous Armenia faction in the National Assembly.

“I truly see risks to my personal safety. We must collectively decide that either the boundaries of decorum, the red lines beyond which it is unacceptable to cross, are maintained, or the work of the parliament will simply dissolve,” she said.

The President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, responded: “It would be good for everyone to adhere to the rules of the game, including those who propose those rules. Perhaps I could recall instances when something peaceful was said here, and the same speaker, five minutes later, made totally different statements publicly outside this door. Those who say such things need to start from themselves. And I welcome what you said.”

Ani Samsonyan from the Bright Armenia faction stated: “If you think that from the euphoria of the revolution, in your dizziness, you can evaluate the opposition from the podium, humiliate or educate them, and then later speak about the rights of the opposition from high podiums, deciding that the opposition should calmly endure all this, then you are mistaken.”
