Rising Crime Rates Observed in 2019

The newspaper "Hayrapet" reports that the police were asked for statistical data comparing crime rates from 2018 and 2019, specifically regarding instances of murder, robbery, and theft.

The data indicates that the criminal situation in 2019 significantly worsened compared to 2018, even though 2018 was a revolutionary year when it seemed like criminal incidents would be more prevalent. According to police statistics, there were 35 recorded murders in 2018, whereas in 2019, the number rose by 12 to a total of 47 cases. Robberies also saw an increase, with 47 incidents in 2018 compared to 62 in 2019.

The number of theft cases also escalated; in 2018, 8,851 were reported, and in 2019, the number increased to 10,732. Additionally, the number of road traffic accidents rose from 4,111 in 2018 to 4,799 in 2019. However, the fatalities from these accidents did not see a significant increase, with 343 deaths recorded in 2018 and 341 in 2019.
