I Said That Little Birds Should Not Be Put in the Place of a Dog: Alen Simonyan
Today, during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly, Vice President Alen Simonyan addressed the opinion that his comments made on Facebook should be examined by the Ethics Committee, stating: “I did not write anything of that nature about Arzumanyan; I responded to him – with ‘you’. Later, when the discussion turned to little birds, I said that little birds should not be placed where a dog belongs. If there are people who want to appeal to the Ethics Committee regarding my statement about little birds being told not to be placed at dog’s place, I do not mind; they can also appeal to the UN.”
Addressing the observation that discussions in the National Assembly have recently become personal, Simonyan noted that they are not constructive and that the opposition has nothing to say: “Just a moment ago, one of the representatives from the opposition said that people are incapable. Is that now considered crossing into personal matters? Therefore, we should be objective and say that the opposition is trying to justify every legislative initiative they bring by making personal accusations against us.”
