The Speaker of the National Assembly Imposed Sanctions Against Me: Edmon Marukyan

Edmon Marukyan, a member of the Enlightened Armenia faction in the National Assembly, recently made a post on his Facebook page stating: "The authorities corrupt people; absolute power absolutely corrupts... Since yesterday, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, has been informed that according to the regulations of the National Assembly, he can impose sanctions on deputies. Yesterday, he unilaterally imposed sanctions (removed) against deputies of the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction.

Today morning, during the session, the Speaker again unilaterally imposed sanctions (issued a warning) against me. Thus, Mr. Mirzoyan is applying the sanctions adopted by the Republicans against the opposition factions, intentionally overlooking the insulting remarks made by representatives of his own faction, the disruptions of the normal course of the session, and other violations.

Moreover, you will recall that when we expressed our protest against the unconstitutional actions of the Republicans with our 'Yelk' faction by banging on the tables, no sanctions were imposed on us at that time."
