The Show of 'Bright Armenia' Did Not Succeed: MP

Representatives of 'Bright Armenia', Edmon Marukyan and David Khazhakyan, announced back in December that they had suspicions regarding potential corruption risks related to the donation of garbage trucks to the Yerevan municipality, and furthermore, that instead of vehicles, money had been accepted by the municipality.

Subsequently, the municipality demanded either the presentation of evidence or the denial of the information, as it was entirely false. To date, no evidence has been presented, and no denial has been issued. Moreover, on January 21, the RA Prosecutor's Office issued a statement indicating that the act of making donations to Yerevan does not involve any characteristics of an illegal act under the Criminal Code.

This means that the information spread by representatives of 'Bright Armenia' has not only been unconfirmed but also refuted by the RA Prosecutor's Office.

However, this has not prevented them from proposing to establish an Investigative Committee in the National Assembly to verify these facts. They are looking to investigate facts that they themselves have thrown into the field, with zero evidence.

What is this if not an attempt to organize a show? I won't even mention the legal aspects, nor will I talk about the fact that the proposed head of this investigative committee is someone who has already referred to the 'My Step' faction in the Yerevan Council as incapable in his speech, and the recipients of the donation as corrupt.

In short, our parliamentary opposition forces are not lacking in scriptwriting talent.

Nevertheless, after all this, the 'My Step' faction of the Yerevan Council has issued a statement that they are ready to establish such an investigative committee within the scope of the council's powers. In my assessment, there is no basis for creating an investigative committee. The show did not succeed, and the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly did not participate in the staging.'
