Pashinyan on the Death of Kutoyan

During today's Q&A session between the Government and the National Assembly, My Step faction member Tigran Karapetyan asked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about his position regarding the death of former NSS director Georgi Kutoyan.

In response to the MP's question, the Prime Minister stated that the incident is very tragic and that the circumstances will require full disclosure, and the family members will need to cooperate fully with the investigative bodies.

“I have said, and I will say again, I guarantee that the government will use all its means to ensure that this case is revealed down to the last detail. Certain representatives of the previous government have raised a ruckus, claiming that the government has not shown proper respect regarding Kutoyan's death. The NSS honor guard, under the command of the Prime Minister, paid tribute at Kutoyan's wake and funeral ceremony. The acting director of the NSS, the entire personnel, and the Secretary of the Security Council were there as representatives of the Prime Minister. As for what else I should have done, in response to the media, I expressed my condolences, and what more should the government have done? And why didn’t those same people raise the issue when there was an incident concerning Haik Harutyunyan? What, do we have differences in respect?” said the Prime Minister.
