Mkhiitar Hayrapetyan Discusses with Newly Appointed Minister of Lebanese-Armenian Heritage

The Chair of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports of the National Assembly of Armenia, Mkhiitar Hayrapetyan, has had a phone conversation with Vardine Ohanyan, the newly appointed Minister of Youth and Sports in Lebanon. Hayrapetyan announced this on his Facebook page.

“I just had a phone conversation with the newly appointed Minister of Youth and Sports of Lebanon, Vardine Ohanyan. During the conversation, I wished success to the Armenian minister, expressing willingness to cooperate in the aforementioned fields. By the way, Vardine Ohanyan is the first Armenian female minister in the modern history of Lebanon; she was nominated by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF). Prior to this, Vardine Ohanyan held the position of director at the ‘Zvartnots’ Special Needs Center.

I would also like to add that today I had a phone conversation with the former Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs, Richard Kuyumjian, and thanked him for his contribution to promoting Armenian-Lebanese partnerships during his tenure. Later, I also plan to connect with the former Lebanese Minister of Tourism, Avetis Kityan,” wrote Mkhiitar Hayrapetyan.
