Designer Killed in Uzbekistan Not of Armenian Descent
The Embassy of Armenia in Uzbekistan (based in Yerevan) has clarified through the local Armenian community that the name "Grigoryan" was a pseudonym of the deceased. Specifically, it has been stated: "His real name was Nariman Fevzi Alimzhanov. Nariman Alimzhanov was born in the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region; his father was Crimean Tatar and his mother was Russian.
He adopted the surname 'Grigoryan' in honor of the world-renowned Uzbek Armenian boxer Arthur Grigoryan, who holds significant authority in Uzbekistan. Currently, the fact that the deceased was of Armenian origin is actively being denied in the Uzbek online domain.
