A Woman of Armenian Descent Appointed as Minister in the Lebanese Government
The new government of Lebanon has been formed, and it includes a woman of Armenian descent as minister. Shahan Gantaharyan, the editor-in-chief of the Lebanese newspaper "Azdak," informed Armenpress about this development, noting that Vardine Ohanian has assumed the position of Minister of Youth and Sports.
“This is the first time that there is a female Armenian minister in the Lebanese government. I should mention that this time, the number of female ministers in the Lebanese government has increased. We now have six female ministers,” said Shahan Gantaharyan.
Prior to this, Vardine Ohanian held the position of director at the "Zvartnots Center for Special Needs." In the previous government, Avetis Kitanian was included in the government as the Minister of Tourism.
