We Witness Justified Protests: Statement from 'Sasna Tsrer'
The current government continues to reject systemic solutions to issues, not just in strategic matters. This was stated by the 'Sasna Tsrer' party in a recent interview.
The announcement further states: “As a result of this approach, we witness justified protests nearly every week. The incompetent decision to close maternity hospitals was followed by another hasty decision regarding mandatory slaughterhouse slaughter, which, by the way, had been adopted during the previous administration but was not implemented.
As usual, the government made this decision without consulting the interested parties, primarily the agricultural producers engaged in livestock farming. Additionally, as always, it failed to conduct necessary calculations, disregarding the dire conditions and challenges faced by small and medium-sized producers, further strengthening the monopolistic position of larger companies, the absence of a procurement system, the abysmal state of sanitary and veterinary systems, the productivity of slaughterhouses, their insufficient quantity, and their significant distance from many villages, as well as many other important factors.
However, without addressing these conditions and resolving the associated problems, the demand for mandatory slaughterhouse slaughter practically makes it impossible for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in meat production to continue their activities.
We express our solidarity with the citizens fighting for their rights, and we call on the current government to listen to them, to fulfill their justified demands, and to implement mandatory slaughterhouse slaughter only after ensuring adequate conditions for it.
