The Mystery of Kutoyan's Death
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: Former investigator and lawmaker from the "My Step" alliance, Sergey Atomyan, considers certain aspects of the mysterious death of former NSS director Georgi Kutoyan to be problematic based on his experience. "It is somewhat questionable for a person committing suicide to fire shots before doing so; we can either witness that the individual is under mental stress and fires shots to relieve that stress or wants to commit suicide but loses focus and ends up shooting themselves. Based on that hypothesis, we can reason in two ways, but since we do not know the details of the preliminary investigation, it would be better not to comment," he stated.
He also emphasized that for him, the official charge of inciting suicide is more convincing. When asked who could have pushed the former NSS director to commit suicide, the lawmaker could not provide an answer but excluded the possibility that he had ever been subjected to pressure by the authorities or that the created atmosphere had a psychological impact on him. "In no way do I accept such an explanation, perhaps certain forces want to shift the blame that way, but I can assure you that it has nothing to do with the authorities," he noted. As evidence, he recalled that Kutoyan was not involved in any criminal case and had no legal status. "Shouldn't the authorities have called him to obtain information?" he questioned.
