Request Submitted to Send Manvel Grigoryan to France for Treatment

The former president of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, General Manvel Grigoryan's defense team submitted a request to the court today, January 21, to send him to France for treatment.

Defense attorney Levon Baghdasaryan stated that Grigoryan's relatives will cover all expenses for his treatment in France. “For about 20 years, doctors in France have been treating Manvel Grigoryan's diabetes,” he added.

The defense also presented a letter from a professor at one of the hospitals in France to the court. The letter indicated that Grigoryan requires treatment in France due to uncontrollable diabetes, heart failure, and respiratory failure.

Recall that on December 15, at the initiative of the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia, an extraordinary court session was held at the Yerevan City General Jurisdiction Court, presided over by Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan, during which Grigoryan's pre-trial measure was modified, and he was released.

It was previously reported that Manvel Grigoryan is in the intensive care unit of the Nairi Medical Center. His health condition is assessed as extremely severe.

It should be noted that Manvel Grigoryan is accused of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, embezzling property worth more than 101 million dram, tax evasion exceeding 1 billion dram, misappropriating state funds exceeding 1 billion dram, and organizing the theft of property worth 37 million dram through extortion.
