Proposal to Host the 2021 EBRD Annual Meeting in Armenia Reaffirmed

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with Suma Chakrabarti, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), during the World Economic Forum in Davos. According to the press office of the President of Armenia, Sarkissian emphasized that Armenia and the EBRD have been long-term partners and noted with satisfaction the effective cooperation between Armenia and the EBRD, as well as the successful implementation of various projects in different sectors.

Chakrabarti, in turn, highlighted the fruitful cooperation with the Armenian government and stated that the EBRD is committed to continuing its support. President Sarkissian reaffirmed Armenia’s proposal to host the EBRD annual meeting in 2021.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects for implementing joint new projects, addressing new opportunities for collaboration in the financial market and the information technology sector.
