Court Rejects Request to Send Manvel Grigoryan to France for Medical Treatment
The court rejected the request from the defenders of former head of the Yerevan Veterans’ Union, General Manvel Grigoryan, to send him to France for medical treatment.
The court deemed the request baseless. It is noted that on January 21, the defenders of Manvel Grigoryan submitted a motion to the court seeking to send him to France for treatment.
The prosecution also objected to the motion, citing its lack of grounds. The court hearing was postponed and rescheduled for February 11 at 14:00.
It is important to mention that Manvel Grigoryan was not present at the hearing, as he has been in the intensive care unit of the “Nairi” Medical Center for several days.
Recall that on December 15, at the initiative of the Prosecutor General's Office, an extraordinary court hearing was held at the Yerevan city court under the chairmanship of Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan, during which Grigoryan was released.
Manvel Grigoryan is charged with illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, embezzlement of property exceeding 101 million Armenian drams, tax evasion exceeding 1 billion drams, misappropriation of more than 1 billion drams of state funds, and organizing the theft of property worth 37 million drams through extortion.
