The Points System Will Not Be Applied to Artsakh Citizens for Now
The 9-point system for traffic fines will not be applied to citizens of Artsakh at this time. This was stated by Armen Harutyunyan, the deputy head of the Artsakh State Transport Police, as reported by Artsakh Public Television.
"This does not mean that violators will not be fined. At this moment, points are not being applied to Artsakh citizens. There are certain issues related to the computer program and legislation that they are working on, and it is very likely that in the coming days this will also be applied to Artsakh citizens," he said.
The deputy head of the Transport Police reminded that exceeding the speed limit by up to 10 km/h does not result in any points, but every kilometer overspeed incurs a fine of 1,000 AMD. For exceeding the speed limit by 10-30 km/h, a fine of 20,000 AMD and a deduction of 2 points is stipulated. For exceeding the speed limit by 30-50 km/h, a fine of 25,000 AMD and a deduction of 3 points is set, while for exceeding by 50-80 km/h, a fine of 29,000 AMD and a deduction of 3 points is applicable. At speeds over 80 km/h, the driver loses their driving license.
Armen Harutyunyan did not rule out that the points system might be implemented in Artsakh as well starting from September.
