A Criminal Case Launched in the NSS for Defamation Against the Attorney General: Abrahamyan
The advisor to the Attorney General of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, has announced on his Facebook page that a criminal case has been initiated in the National Security Service (NSS) for defaming the Attorney General.
“The leg of the lie is indeed short. Such primitive manipulations are also there,” he wrote.
Abrahamyan shared a clarification from the prosecution provided to Araratnews.am, concerning information published last year by human rights defender Artak Galstyan and lawyer Susanna Sargsyan, alleging that Attorney General Artur Davtyan met with Razmik Abrahamyan, who is accused of child trafficking.
The prosecution has stated that the NSS has completed its investigation of the case. “... During the preparation of the materials, A. Galstyan, invited by the NSS, refused to report a crime, disclosing the sources of his information during the investigation. Investigative and procedural measures have revealed that Razmik Abrahamyan met not with the Attorney General but with his lawyer at the location mentioned in the report, a fact that was quite apparent to the information disseminator. Furthermore, through operational and investigative measures, no data has been obtained regarding the Attorney General's visit to the mentioned location and any meetings with Razmik Abrahamyan, Liana Karapetyan, and other individuals,” the prosecution stated.
