489,160,310 Dram Waste: Case Against Serzh Sargsyan and Others Handed Over to Prosecutor

During the investigation of a criminal case by the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia, sufficient evidence has been obtained that it was established that under the organization of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, and at the instigation of Barsel Beglaryan, owner of Flash LLC, with the assistance of former Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Galstyan and Head of the Plant Growing Department Gevorg Harutyunyan, a significant amount of money amounting to 489,160,310 AMD was wasted from the government reserve fund by former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan between January 25 and February 7, 2013, during the implementation of state support programs for the sale of 15,391,765 liters of diesel fuel.

For committing these criminal acts, Sergo Karapetyan has been charged under the first part of the third paragraph of Article 179 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan under the first part of the third paragraph of Article 38-179, Barsel Beglaryan under the first part of the third paragraph of Article 38-179, and Samvel Galstyan and Gevorg Harutyunyan under the first part of the third paragraph of Article 38-179 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

The pre-trial investigation on the separated case regarding the mentioned defendants has been completed. The criminal case has been handed over to the supervising prosecutor with an indictment conclusion, with a request to submit it to the court.
