Prime Minister Familiarizes with CARD Foundation Activities and Highlights Importance of Knowledge Distribution for Modern Agriculture

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) Foundation. During the tour, the head of the foundation presented the activities of CARD and the work of its various departments to the government leader. This was reported by the Prime Minister's office.

Subsequently, during a consultation, in-depth discussions were held regarding the projects implemented by the foundation and their results. It was noted that the CARD team includes six organizations specialized in agriculture and 19 agricultural service centers.

It was informed that CARD is engaged in implementing agricultural development programs primarily aimed at livestock farming, dairy production and processing, winemaking, mechanization services, vegetable and fruit cultivation, as well as greenhouse production. Recent initiatives include programs aimed at the development of pig farming and goat breeding.

The CARD Foundation also coordinates 19 agricultural service centers operating in Armenia, which have been established in regions to make high-quality agricultural investments, services, knowledge, and information more accessible. The centers are specialized in the following areas based on locality: livestock and veterinary medicine, pig farming, winemaking and grape growing, greenhouse production, open field vegetable growing, fruit growing, and livestock breeding of small ruminants. The centers also provide farmers with necessary knowledge and consultations for modern agriculture.

As a result of the centers' activities, 250 specialists have been retrained. Prime Minister Pashinyan welcomed the programs implemented by the foundation and emphasized the importance of knowledge distribution in terms of the introduction of modern technologies in the agricultural sector, as well as the work undertaken by the foundation for the expansion of the aforementioned centers.

The government leader instructed Deputy Minister of Economy Artak Kamalyan to continue collaboration with the foundation to facilitate the distribution of necessary knowledge for organizing modern agriculture and to present a corresponding program for the massive dissemination of knowledge available within the foundation in order to jointly implement it.
