Former NSS Director Georgi Kutoyan's Funeral Service to Take Place on January 19

The funeral service for former NSS Director Georgi Kutoyan will take place on January 19 at 18:00 at the Erebuyni mourning hall, located at 2/14 Khaghagh Don Street. The burial will be on January 20 at 14:00 at the same location.

It is worth noting that on January 17, the body of former NSS chief Georgi Kutoyan was discovered in an apartment on Paruir Sevak Street in Yerevan, with a gunshot wound.

In connection with Kutoyan's death, a criminal case has been initiated on charges of incitement to suicide, but multiple theories are being considered. This information was shared by Arthur Melikyan, Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee of Armenia and Head of the Main Department for Investigating Particularly Important Cases, during a conversation with journalists at the crime scene.

“The body of Kutoyan with a gunshot injury has been found; a GLOCK pistol has been discovered at the scene, and we have established that it is a legally acquired weapon, provided by the head of Georgia's security service. There are numerous bullet casings and damage to the walls. Specialists are conducting operations at the scene involving Kutoyan and his father. At this moment, investigative actions are ongoing. Apart from his wife and father, no other individuals were present at the scene except for forensic experts, criminologists, investigators, and operational staff,” Melikyan stated.
