Details of Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and My Step's Closed Meeting

According to the "Hayots Ashkharh" newspaper, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan spent nearly two hours yesterday in the office of the "Civil Contract" party.

The newspaper has obtained details about the closed meeting between Minister Mnatsakanyan and members of the ruling "My Step" faction in the National Assembly. According to reports, there were not many deputies in attendance at the meeting, for which they provided reasons. The fact is that various committee meetings were taking place in the National Assembly almost simultaneously, and the deputies could not make it to the Civil Contract office in time.

The newspaper learned that the meeting took place in a speech-and-Q&A format. The minister started with an introductory speech, and then the question-and-answer session began, which was not very active. The deputies mainly played the role of listeners, as diplomatic answers were provided—long and not very content-rich. Questions were raised by Lilit Makunts and members of the Foreign Relations Committee.

The newspaper learned that issues relating to the meeting scheduled for January 18 between Armenian and Artsakh parliamentarians were also addressed. On that day, there will be a broad meeting in the Armenia-Artsakh format, focusing on the topic of the Armenian massacres in Baku that took place in 1990.

According to our sources, both in Armenia and Artsakh, there is a desire to issue a joint statement on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Baku massacres, condemning the events and once again drawing the world's attention to the issue.
