168 Hours: Notable Details. Kutoyan Wanted to Join Serzh Sargsyan's Defense Team
According to the newspaper '168 Hours', during a meeting of the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) yesterday, the third President of Armenia and head of the RPA, Serzh Sargsyan, addressed the death of former NSS Director Gevorg Kutoyan.
As reported by sources from '168 Hours', Sargsyan received the news of Kutoyan's passing quite heavily, having appointed him as NSS director based on his professional and personal qualities.
Furthermore, it is said that Sargsyan referred to Kutoyan's death as 'very strange' and recounted during the meeting that when Kutoyan learned about the criminal case initiated against Sargsyan, he expressed a desire to interrupt his studies, return to Armenia, and become part of Sargsyan's defense team. However, Sargsyan urged him to finish his studies first and then return to Armenia.
Additionally, Sargsyan discussed the manipulations in the governmental propaganda sphere, stating that the level of immorality in the country has reached horrifying proportions, with each new incident marking further downturns.
It is noteworthy that after the revolution, Kutoyan left for the United Kingdom to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Cambridge. For more details, refer to this morning's edition of the newspaper.
