Condition of Victims from House Explosion in Zarr Village Assessed as Serious
On January 17, at 08:35, a call was received by the "911" service reporting that a house had collapsed due to an explosion on Mechanizatorner Street in Zarr Village, Kotayk Province. Preliminary reports indicated that there were victims.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations' press service reports that a firefighting and rescue team from the regional emergency rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was confirmed that an explosion had occurred; the house had collapsed, covering an area of about 130 square meters. Damage was also reported to approximately 8 square meters of the roof of an adjacent house, as well as to the window glass of the living room door and the windows of another nearby house.
Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the residents of the house, 86-year-old Grisha and 84-year-old Knar H., were hospitalized at Abovyan Medical Center, where medical professionals assessed their condition as serious. The rescuers have secured the area.
