Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal Attorney to Defend Trump
President Donald Trump's impeachment case will be defended by attorneys Kenneth Starr and Alan Dershowitz. This is reported by the New York Times, citing the president's defense team.
Kenneth Starr is known for his role in the scandal involving former U.S. President Bill Clinton and White House intern Monica Lewinsky. When Linda Tripp, a Defense Department employee, learned in January 1998 that Lewinsky had denied the affair during a court hearing concerning Paula Jones, she provided recorded conversations to independent counsel Kenneth Starr, who was investigating several cases involving Clinton, including Whitewater, the FBI-White House document leak, and the scandals of the White House Travel Office.
The revelation of this extramarital affair and the subsequent investigation ultimately led to the initiation of impeachment proceedings against President Clinton in the U.S. House of Representatives.
