During today’s government meeting, the issue of granting customs privileges to a company engaged in olive production in Armenia was discussed. Deputy Minister of Economy Avag Avanesyan presented the case, noting that the company operates in the Kotayk province and aims to increase its export volume to 40 percent of its operations.

Government members inquired whether this was olive produced in Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded that Armenia has not yet reached the point of growing olives, but added, “If the weather changes at this rate, we will start growing olives in Armenia by the end of next year.”
