Citizen Attempts Self-Immolation on Rooftop

On January 15, at 19:23, the "911" service received a report that a citizen was attempting to self-immolate himself on the rooftop of the sewage treatment plant in the town of Metsamor, Ararat Province.

Emergency responders from the regional rescue service deployed one firefighting unit and an operational group to the scene. Rescuers and officers from the Metsamor police department intervened to prevent the self-immolation attempt by Ara S. (born in 1976) and safely brought him down from the rooftop.
