Armenian Side Does Not Avoid Talks: Mnatsakanyan on Meetings with Azerbaijani Counterparts

After the closed meeting of the "My Step" faction, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan responded to journalists' questions. He did not elaborate on the agenda of the meeting but noted that issues related to increasing the effectiveness of foreign policy were discussed. "I greatly value such meetings with the faction. This way, we strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of our work in foreign policy implementation, and the parliamentary segment plays an important role in this process," said the minister.

When asked about any updates regarding the exchange of prisoners, Mnatsakanyan replied that the process is ongoing. "This topic is incredibly sensitive, and I feel bad about the current situation, but unfortunately, I have no more to say at this moment; the process is continuing," he stated.

Reporters asked Mnatsakanyan whether the changes in the Russian government could somehow affect Armenian-Russian relations. The minister replied, "Armenian-Russian relations have quite solid foundations and a rich agenda. Our work in all formats of that rich agenda is very effective and active; we are working as we have been."

Referring again to his meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan emphasized that the Armenian side does not shy away from discussions, and continuing the negotiation process is essential. "We will always continue to be engaged and work. In that context, when we agree on all the necessary details regarding the meeting, we will announce them," said Mnatsakanyan.

It is worth noting that the "My Step" faction will also have a similar meeting with the acting police chief in the near future.
