This Is the Final Stage: Expert Presents Commission's Opinion on Grigoryan's Health Status

On January 15, 2020, a letter was received by the Prosecutor General's Office from the "Nairi" Medical Center concerning the health status of former MP and General Manvel Grigoryan. Considering the importance and urgency of the issues related to the defendant's health, the first instance court decided to convene an extraordinary session.

This was announced today, January 15, at the extraordinary session by Mnatsakan Martirosyan, who is overseeing Grigoryan's case.

It is noteworthy that since August 8, 2019, Manvel Grigoryan has been at the "Nairi" Medical Center.

The judge presented the letter sent from the "Nairi" Medical Center to the prosecutor's office: "The patient's condition has been assessed as stable and of moderate severity. The patient has been transferred to the intensive care unit. At present, the patient is in intensive care, and the condition is assessed as severe, we request to take appropriate measures."

The head of the interdepartmental expert commission, Gagik Harutyunyan, presented the commission's opinion: "During the examination, Manvel Grigoryan's illnesses were monitored. The examination was not conducted over a few days but was time-consuming. We periodically monitored the medical documents recorded at the "Nairi" Medical Center. All diagnoses coincide with what was presented in court. Unfortunately, complications in the condition have arisen. From a medical standpoint, this is an undesirable complication as it may lead to unpredictable consequences. It pertains to heart rhythm disturbances. This is an unexpected circumstance. It could lead to unpredictable symptoms related to the frequency of heart contractions. This is already the final stage. The arterial pressure readings are threatening. This condition is life-threatening."

The expert requested five minutes to present documents regarding Manvel Grigoryan's health condition. The judge announced a recess. It is noteworthy that Manvel Grigoryan's wife, Nazik Amiryan, is also present at the session.

It should be recalled that Manvel Grigoryan has been in "Nairi" Medical Center since yesterday. According to the defense, his condition is severe, and he is connected to an artificial respiration machine.

Manvel Grigoryan is accused of illegally possessing weapons and ammunition, embezzling property valued at over 101 million drams, evading payment of over 1 billion drams in taxes, misusing state funds exceeding 1 billion drams, and organizing the theft of property worth 37 million drams through extortion.
