More than 350 applicants. The selection exams for the ‘1991’ military unit begin

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia, in collaboration with the FAST foundation, is commencing the selection exams for candidates aspiring to join the ‘1991’ military unit. There are over 350 applicants. This information was shared by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Arzrun Hovhannisyan, on Facebook.

It is noteworthy that on September 30 of the previous year, a memorandum of understanding was signed in the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense between the Ministry, the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST), and the 'Hay Tech' Cybersecurity Center Foundation regarding the establishment of the ‘1991 subdivision’.

The aim of the ‘1991 subdivision’ program is to facilitate continuous education, comprehensive development, and the acquisition of professional skills for those serving in the military. The program envisions the creation of a new special unit within the Armed Forces of Armenia, which will enable the implementation of research projects and analyses aimed at addressing daily, mid-term, and long-term challenges.

Personnel who serve in the ‘1991 subdivision’ will gain fundamental and practical knowledge and skills, giving them the opportunity to secure employment in relevant divisions of the Armenian Ministry of Defense after service, continuing to apply and expand the knowledge they acquired. They will also have the chance to find work in leading high-tech companies and engage in research laboratory projects.
