«Jhoghovurd». My Step MPs Did Not Reconcile During the Celebration

«Jhoghovurd» newspaper reports that members of the National Assembly from the "My Step" faction, Karen Sarukhanyan and Sofia Hovsepyan, have had a conversation with faction leader Lilit Makunts. However, even after clarifications, discussions continue regarding the pressure allegedly exerted on Sarukhanyan to relinquish his mandate.

As is known, in response to criticisms regarding the closure of the maternity hospital in Maralik, Sarukhanyan advised Hovsepyan during a Facebook debate: "Get married, it will pass." This is, agreeably, a gross violation of ethical norms and an unacceptable insult from a male colleague.

«Jhoghovurd» attempted to clarify with Sarukhanyan what kind of pressure he experienced during or after the meeting with Makunts. "I have not faced and cannot face any pressure. There have been no discussions about relinquishing my mandate or leaving the faction. I am still waiting for an apology from Ms. Hovsepyan, as she has not presented any evidence for her accusations against me. I do not consider it a moral step to make unfounded accusations against a colleague," he responded, recalling that he has already apologized to Sofia.

Sofia Hovsepyan, for her part, stated in an interview with «Jhoghovurd» that she is ready to participate in any discussion, anywhere, with evidence.

Note: The newspaper learned from Sarukhanyan that he did not interact with Sofia Hovsepyan at the celebration organized by "My Step" yesterday. This means that the parties did not raise their glasses together to reconcile.
