‘Javakhk’. Hospitals Refuse to Serve Social Package Beneficiaries

‘Javakhk’ newspaper reports that a number of state employees, who are considered beneficiaries of the social package, have found themselves in an uncomfortable situation. For several days now, people have been approaching various hospitals with complaints, but they are unable to receive treatment.

‘Javakhk’ has learned that social beneficiaries who come to healthcare facilities to obtain medical services have been universally rejected. Hospitals refuse to serve them, citing reasons such as ‘the program is down, it is not functioning’ or that ‘the database has not been updated and they cannot serve social beneficiaries with outdated information.’

It is worth noting that the database allocated for the social package is typically updated every two months, yet this has not been done. What is the issue? Is the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia overwhelmed due to the ongoing process of closing maternal hospitals, lacking the time to address the issues of other segments of society, in this case, social beneficiaries?

Regarding the matter, ‘Javakhk’ turned to the Ministry of Health, which stated that the issue is technical and will be resolved within the next two days. Now, it remains for teachers and other government sector employees to understand the situation and postpone their illnesses for a few days. Will this be possible? It seems unlikely.
