A Medical Center for Animal Treatment Opens in Australia
In Australia, wildfires have dealt a severe blow to the animal kingdom. A medical center for treating animals affected by forest fires has been opened in the wildlife park on Kangaroo Island. This was reported by AFP.
The number of injured animals is so great that veterinarians are unable to name them; they are simply numbering them. Unfortunately, there are animals whose injuries are incompatible with life and are undergoing euthanasia.
According to veterinarians, prior to the wildfires there were about 46,000 koalas in Australia, but now their number has dwindled to 9,000. Koalas may be included in the list of endangered species.
