«Žhoghovourd». The NSS Made a Proposal: Details on the Case of ‘Alraghatsi Lyovik’
«Žhoghovourd» newspaper reports that details have emerged regarding the criminal case involving Levon Sargsyan, a former National Assembly member known by the nickname ‘Alraghatsi Lyovik’.
Specifically, it has been revealed that the investigative body has offered convicted individuals involved in the criminal case assistance in exchange for pertinent testimonies, promising more lenient punishments in return.
The newspaper spoke with lawyer Vagharschak Gevorgyan, who is not only defending Hayk Melkonyan, an accused in this case but also represents the interests of Armen Nikoghosyan. According to Vagharschak Gevorgyan, there has been a proposal from the NSS for the accused Hayk Melkonyan. “There has been an offer: if you have any information regarding Levon Sargsyan, disclose that information, cooperate with us, and we will ensure that your request for conditional early release is processed favorably. In other words, the further serving of your sentence will be mitigated. So, a proposal for cooperation was made, and he stated that he does not have any information,” he noted.
It should be pointed out that the investigative body clarified that cooperation in accordance with the law can lead to favorable support.
