Serbia to Open Embassy in Armenia
During a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with Serbia's Prime Minister Ana Brnabić at the prestigious "Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week" international forum. The two leaders discussed the progress of recently reached agreements, emphasizing the effectiveness of their recent meetings and discussions.
They noted with satisfaction that Armenian-Serbian relations are advancing step by step. A visa-free regime for citizens of Armenia is already in place, based on an agreement reached during President Sarkissian's official visit to Serbia.
Prime Minister Brnabić announced that Serbia's embassy in the Republic of Armenia will be opened at the end of February. These are seen as significant steps towards strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Additionally, they expressed their satisfaction with another agreement to hold the Armenian "Sevan Start-up" festival alongside the annual EXIT music festival in Novi Sad, Serbia. President Sarkissian and Prime Minister Brnabić discussed prospective directions for bilateral cooperation, highlighting the importance of environmental issues and green technologies for both Armenia and Serbia.
President Sarkissian mentioned the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration in these areas, as well as significant opportunities in information technology, high technology, and artificial intelligence. They also discussed possible avenues for cooperation within the framework of the ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow) presidential initiative.
