From January 19, Armenian Citizens Can Travel to China Visa-Free
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs that the agreement on the mutual abolition of the visa requirement for holders of ordinary passports between the Government of Armenia and the Government of the People's Republic of China will come into force on January 19, 2020.
The MFA statement is as follows:
- From the day the agreement comes into force, citizens of the Republic of Armenia holding valid ordinary passports and citizens of the People's Republic of China holding valid ordinary passports will be exempt from visa requirements when entering, exiting, or transiting through each other's countries for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, provided the passport is valid for at least 6 months.
- Note: Citizens of the Republic of Armenia and the People’s Republic of China who intend to enter and stay in each other's territories for longer than 90 days within any 180-day period, or travel to each other's countries for work, study, long-term residence, journalism, or other activities, must apply to the relevant country's embassy for a visa as per the internal laws and regulations of both countries.
- Note: Since March 3, 2019, a visa-free regime has been in place between the Republic of Armenia and the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong of the People’s Republic of China for 30 days for Armenian citizens and 180 days for holders of Hong Kong SAR passports.
- Note: Since December 19, 2016, under the agreement on visa liberalization between the Republic of Armenia and the Special Administrative Region of Macau of the People’s Republic of China, citizens of both sides are exempt from the visa requirement for 90 days within a 365-day period.
