Emergency Doctor in St. Petersburg Assaults 76-Year-Old Armenian Patient

An elderly resident of St. Petersburg, 76-year-old Armenian Zhora Mirzoyan, has reported being assaulted by an ambulance doctor while being transported to the hospital. As a result, Mirzoyan was transferred to the trauma department by another ambulance, according to Lenta.ru.

Zhora Mirzoyan's wife shared that her husband had previously suffered a heart attack and had arrhythmia. On the morning of January 9th, his condition suddenly worsened, with his blood pressure reaching 190 and he began to choke. They called for an ambulance. Upon arrival, the medical team was informed by the couple that they only wanted to go to the veterans' hospital.

“We made an agreement, and they told us that they were expecting us there. We couldn’t go by taxi ourselves because my husband could deteriorate rapidly on the way,” the wife recounted.

She mentioned that the doctors did not provide her husband with medical assistance but invited him to sit in the vehicle. When the driver took a different route heading to another hospital, the patient became upset and began hitting the window. The ambulance stopped, and Doctor Bondarev exited from the front of the vehicle to inquire about the situation. In response to the patient’s demand to be taken to a specific clinic, the doctor sharply reacted, saying, “I will take you wherever I want.”

The patient attempted to exit the vehicle, but the doctor tried to restrain him by force. “He grabbed my husband by the throat, covered his mouth, and began to choke him. I started to scream. The doctor hit my husband in the nose, and blood began to flow. I wanted to intervene but the nurse pushed me away and held my arms behind my back,” Mirzoyan’s wife said.

The nurse attempted to stop the bleeding from Mirzoyan's nose, after which they were released. The elderly couple then reported the incident to the police, who transferred them to the trauma department, where the elderly man was examined and received stitches in his nose.
