Previous Corrupt Regime Representatives Have Thought of Interesting Steps Regarding the Constitutional Court: Ioannissian

Daniel Ioannissian, founder of the 'Informed Citizens' NGO, program coordinator, and member of the Public Council, wrote on his Facebook page:

“Representatives of the previous corrupt regime have thought of interesting steps regarding the Constitutional Court. As you know, the judges of the Constitutional Court who resign voluntarily in the coming weeks will receive their full salaries immediately. Some judges are inclined to take this step, which is absolutely displeasing to the Republican Party-Kocharian team, who are trying to prevent this scenario.

The latter are disseminating active rumors through various media resources, alleging that law enforcement agencies have collected 'highly personal' information about two Constitutional Court judges and are using this kompromat to pressure the judges to resign. As a result, the public will think about those judges who resigned: ‘Ah, it turns out, this is the judge of the Constitutional Court who is going downhill.’ No matter how false this may be, no one wants to be perceived by the public as having extramarital affairs.

The resigning judges of the Constitutional Court will naturally be cautious about taking this step... Even knowing that the rumors about the collection of kompromat by law enforcement are false.

P.S. I am confident that the authorities' ability to exert pressure through personal life kompromat was eliminated in 2018. The authorities that resorted to such means against me and the editor-in-chief of the 'Aravot' newspaper, Aram Abrahamyan, have been removed.”
