Pregnant Woman Loses Baby Due to Car Accident in Kotayk

During the investigation conducted by Senior Investigator Arthur Minasian from the Traffic Police's 2nd Battalion, 3rd Company, it was revealed that on January 2, a serious car accident occurred in the Kotayk region, leading to the identification of those transported to the hospital and their drivers.

According to Shamshyan.com, the Mitsubishi Pajero was driven by 59-year-old Mher Baghdasaryan, a resident of Charentsavan, while the Opel was being driven by 25-year-old Grigor Galstyan, a resident of Arzakan village. As a result of the accident, M. Baghdasaryan and G. Galstyan were taken to the hospital along with three passengers from Yerevan: 1-year-old Aren Nazaryan, 35-year-old Taghuhy Tadevosyan, and several hours later, 22-year-old Gor Sakunts, a passenger from the Opel, also sought medical attention at the Charentsavan Medical Center.

According to site sources, the drivers underwent sobriety tests. It was determined that G. Galstyan, the driver of the Opel, was sober, while M. Baghdasaryan was driving under the influence (in an intoxicated state). Preliminary information indicated that the cause of the accident was the Mitsubishi driver, who crossed into the oncoming lane, creating a hazardous situation for the Opel driver, subsequently colliding with the Opel and ending up in a field.

According to reports, the intoxicated driver of the Mitsubishi is the brother-in-law of Samvel Tonoyan, the former head of the Charentsavan police, who is a police colonel.

As a result of the accident, T. Tadevosyan, who was pregnant and transported to the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center, lost her future baby girl.

Earlier, Shamshyan.com reported that on January 2, there was a collision between Opel and Mitsubishi Pajero vehicles on the highway from Yerevan to Sevan, heading towards Charentsavan. The accident resulted in five individuals, including a 1-year-old child, being taken to the Charentsavan Medical Center with various injuries.
