Funding for Kindergarten No. 92 Suspended
The Kindergarten No. 92 in Yerevan will close its doors to children receiving inclusive education starting January 8, as the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has suspended funding for 23 specially trained staff members at the kindergarten. This information was shared by NA member Naira Zohrabyan on her Facebook page.
Representatives from Kindergarten No. 92 confirmed this information in an interview with A1+. However, they do not currently have a clear answer regarding which institution the children will be transferred to, as discussions are ongoing with the municipality.
An employee from the Press Office of the Yerevan Mayor's Office, who preferred to remain anonymous, mentioned that the financing for inclusive education at Kindergarten No. 92 was provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs until December 31, 2019, and there are no intentions to continue the program.
"We are trying to hold discussions with the Government to ensure that the educational process of the children is not disrupted, and the issue of specialists should also be addressed," said the press office.
We learned from the Police Department's Public Relations Division that the Kindergarten operating under the 'Child Development Center' may be transferred under the jurisdiction of the local government, and discussions are taking place in this regard with the Yerevan Mayor's Office. However, the city council did not provide details on the current status of these discussions.
